This 2-part Maya animation depicts the process of nucleic acid packing/assembly into the viral capsid. Part II focuses on the molecular machinery responsible for pulling the nucleic aacid strand inside the capsid.

Wow! Great work Eric. It's so clear a concept when illustrated as such. The circling camera motion is well timed. I wonder if the mechanics of moving the DNA through facilitates coiling of the strand, helping it pack around the outside of the capsid. Great subject, beautifully animated and shaded! Thanks for sharing.
